Uttar Pradesh: Cleric Abdul Qadir rapes a minor girl in a mosque in Amroha, gets arrested
The police in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district have arrested a cleric An Imam named Maulana Abdul Qadir o a mosque in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in a mosque.
The incident took place about a fortnight ago when the girl had gone to a mosque in Amroha for religious education
A case under section 376 (rape) of the IPC and POCSO was registered against the cleric following a complaint by the victim's father.
Inspector P.K. Chauhan said, “The accused maulvi, identified as Abdul Qadir, will be produced before the court soon and sent to jail on Monday
She is studying in eighth standard. The accused imam was taken into custody by Didauli Kotwali police.
Heinous crime took place in a village in Amroha, Didauli Kotwali area Uttar Pradesh.
The minor girl was part of the family of the truck driver who lives here.
Every day she went to the village mosque with the other children for religious training.
