Ahmedabad: 150-year-old heritage school to be back in new avatar

A 150-year-old heritage school building in Ahmedabad’s Khamasa is all set to be restored into an innovation centre for girls. The heritage school building was abandoned for decades following 2001 earthquake. The innovation centre will be developed in alliance with LxS Foundation and the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The restoration work is expected to be completed within the next two years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.2 crores. Speaking to ANI, Co-Founder of LxS Foundation Sanskriti Panchal said, “LxS Foundation in partnership with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry will develop this building into an innovation centre for underprivileged girls in next two years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.2 crores.” The idea behind restoring the heritage building is to bring the heritage to its people.
