A gunman opened fire at a meeting of residents of an apartment building in Rome, killing three women, including a friend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni. Italy’s far-right Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni revealed on Facebook later on Sunday that one of the victims was her boyfriend.

According to Reuters: Three women, including a friend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni, were killed on Sunday when a man pulled out a gun and opened fire at a meeting of residents of an apartment building in Rome.

Meloni posted a photo on Instagram Sunday night of herself alongside Nicoletta Golisano, one of the victims. “To me, she will always be this beautiful and happy,” Meloni captioned the photo.

“It’s not right to die like this.

Police arrested a 57-year-old man who was overpowered by other residents after a shooting at a bar meeting in the city’s Fidene district.

The suspect was a local man who had been in a series of disputes with the residents’ association, a witness told Rai News.

“He entered the room, closed the door and shouted ‘I will kill you all’ and then started shooting,” Italian news agency Ansa quoted another witness as saying.

Four other people were injured in the shooting, at least one of them suffered serious injuries.

Meloni said the shooting range where the suspect took the gun used in the attack was closed and authorities were investigating.
