Mother’s Day

Every year Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May and this year it will be celebrated on May 9.

A mother plays vital role in the life of humans and animals alike, always shower unconditional love on their kids and always ready to sacrifice all their needs for their families. Right from feeding kids to teaching them manners, giving them moral values, showing them the right path and hold their hands in tough time.

Mother’s Day celebrations were first started in the US by Anna Jarvis. She celebrated the day because her own mother had expressed such wish. When she passed away, Jarvis took up the initiative and held a memorial for her mother in the year 1908, three years after her death.

What started as Anna’s way of remembering her mother, got picked up by other countries over the years, as a way to love, cherish and honour mothers everywhere.
