Gurugram: A charlatan has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a 20-year-old Maruti Suzuki trainee in India due to alleged ill-treatment at IMT, Manesar, police said.

Footage from CCTV cameras installed on the intern or in the accommodation for paying guests showed the charlatan and his friend disposing of the body, police added.

A native of Jaandwa village in Rajasthan’s Churu district, Leeladhar was interning with Maruti Suzuki India at IMT and staying in a PG or paying guest accommodation in nearby Aliar village.

In his complaint to the police, the trainee’s uncle Ramavtar said he was informed about Leeladhar’s death on Tuesday. Police released his body after a forensic examination, but Ramavtar said he had doubts that his nephew had died under suspicious circumstances.

“I checked the CCTV footage and found that my nephew had fever and was being treated by Faie, a quack from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh at Aalam Clinic in Aliar village,” Ramavtar said in his complaint.

“The charlatan injected my nephew and asked him to sleep in the clinic but he died soon after. The charlatan who has no valid degree called his friend Subhan, they dumped the body near my nephew’s PG and ran away.” After that, I filed a criminal complaint with the police,” he added.

After lodging a complaint, a police team visited the spot again. They also examined the CCTV footage in which the charlatan and his friend were seen having a fling near Leeladhar’s rented house.
