Watch: Bike Thieves Tried To Rush Through Delhi Colony Gate. Guard Was Faster

Two men impersonated municipal officials and tried to steal a bike from a delivery man but crashed into the gate of a colony in Delhi’s Kalkaji Extension today after guards managed to close it in time. The incident was caught on a security camera.
One of the men was immediately caught by the residents, the other managed to escape, only to be caught later from a neighboring colony, where he was hiding in a park and trying to blend in with the runners.

The men told residents of Everest Apartments in south Delhi that they were on a building inspection. They spotted the opportunity around 2pm when the courier left the key in the ignition as he got out and rang the doorbell.

They started the engine and tried to accelerate. But the deliveryman shouted and the guard rushed to close the gate. The men tried to slide through but bumped into him and fell off the bike.

The district police from Govindpuri reached the spot after the residents called the control room.
