WWE SmackDown LIVE updates(July 21, 2023): Roman Reigns confronts Jey Uso

Rules of engagement for official fight between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso is being discussed. 

Reigns takes the mic! He asks the Orlando crowd to acknowledge him.

Reigns mockingly laughs at Jey Uso. Reigns asks Jey if he sure about the fight.

Jey responds, Yes I still want to do it. “Jimmy is in the hospital so now I got to get you”.

Reigns tries to manipulate Jey, calls him “a pawn in the game”. The crowd chants Usos. 

Reigns signs the rules of engagement. Jey Uso tears it up. He says “We don’t need no contract.

Roman Reigns enters the arena. He is flanked by Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Pyro lits the arena and the crowd erupts.

Jey Uso is seen in deep thought.

Jey Uso enters the arena and the crowd goes berserk. Jey will get the answer to his SummerSlam challenge to Roman Reigns.

Dominik Mysterio retains NXT North American Championship title against Butch.

Dominik and Butch fight on. Butch viciously attacks Dominik. He kicks Dominik and then suplexes him. 

Butch tries to pin Domink but he kicks out.

Ripley distracts Butch. Dominik takes advantage and pins Butch to win. 

Dominik retains NXT North American Championship

Butch again twists Domink’s fingers. Ripley hands a steel chain to Butch. Holland grabs the chain from Dominik.

Butch takes down Dominik and pins him for the win, kick out by Dominik.

Dominik defends his NXT title against Butch. Rhea Ripley looks on from ring side.

Butch pins Dominik and twists his fingers and ears. Dominik cries in pain.

Santos Escobar has surpassed Austin Theory in a head-to-head fight.

Theory and Escobar are back in the ring. And Theory is dominating Escobar.

Escobar kicks out Theory to ringside. Theory lands on announce table.

Both wrestlers enter the ring. Escobar viciously attacks Theory. Escobar climbs to top rope and leaps onto Theory and tries to pin him for a win. Theory kicks out.

Theory starts dominating. He tries to pin Escobar for a win but Escobar kicks out. Theory tries to lift Escobar.

Escobar kicks on Theory’s face. Both wreslters climb to top rope. Esobar slams Theory on ring floor. He slams Theory again. Escobar pins Theory and wins the match.

Escobar throws Theory to ringside. Theory is absolutely astounded by Escobar’s gameplay. Is Theory gotta run away?

Escobar shows aggression first up. Theory is stunned. Theory quickly gets his composure back, he attacks Escobar.

Escobar repeatedly hits Theory on his head. 

Theory puts Escobar in the ring corner and hits him. Esobar turns the tables on Theory and hits him repeatedly.

Both wrestlers have entered the ring amid cheers from the crowd. Escobar is pumped up while Theory looks confident.

Austin Theory squares off against Santos Escobar in a head-to-head fight. 

A deeply worried Roman Reigns is seen backstage. He is flanked by Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Reigns looks lost in thoughts.

Sky and Flair are perched on top rope. Sky slams Flair on the ring floor. But Sky quickly turns the tables.

Flair pins Sky and wins the match. 

Asuka enters the ring out of nowhere and attacks Flair. She shows off her title belt and the crowd erupts.

Sky repeatedly hits on Flair’s head. Flair spears into Sky, and pins her. Sky kicks out and survives the contest.

Flair suplexes Sky. 

Sky rolls Flair. Both women are giving their all in the match. Not a winner yet!

Bayley leaves the arena. Flair takes advantage and attacks Sky.

Sky climbs to top rope and jumps on Flair but Flair moves away.

Sky holds Flair’s head. She then holds Fllair’s leg.

Flair holds Sky’s leg and tries to force a pin.

Flair lifts Sky to top rope and starts hitting her. Sky power bombs Flair on the ring floor. 

Flair kicks out. Bayley looks on from ringside.

Charlotte Flair vs Iyo Sky match is set to start.

Austin Theory wants an official head-to-head match against Santos Escobar. Adam Pearce agrees to it.

Theory won’t put his title at stake.

Rey Mysterio wins fatal 4-way match against Sheamus, Cameron Grimes and LA Knight.

Mysterio will face Santos Escobar next week. The winner will get a title match against US Champion Austin Theory.

Mysterio climbs top rope. Grimes follows him. While the two are perched, Sheamus grbas Grimes. Mysterio 619s both Grimes and Sheamus.

Theory attacks Mysterio. Santos Escobar enters all of a sudden and attacks Theory.

Mysterio enters the ring and takes down Grimes. Mysterio wins the fatal 4-way match.

Grimes tries to pin Mysterio who kicks out. Mysterio climbs top rope. Grimes grabs him on his head. But Mysterio takes Grimes down at ringside.

Sheamus attacks Grimes and Mysterio. In the ring, Knight and Sheamus fight. Sheamus tries to pin Knight who kicks out.

Crowd erupts. Mysterio and Knight lie on the ring floor. Sheamus acknowledges crowd support. 

Knight attacks Sheamus. Mysterio leap frogs on both. Grimes lifts Sheamus and slams him on the floor. Mysterio break the two.

Grimes tries to pin Mysterio.

Mysterio sits in corner on top rope. Grimes grabs Mysterio’s head. Sheamus and Knight grab each other while being perched in the corner. All four wrestlers leap frog in the ring and fall flat.

Mysterio takes Sheamus down in the ring. Sheamus gains his composure and slams Mysterio on the floor.

Grimes enters the ring and attacks both Mysterio and Sheamus.

Knight enters the ring and gets hit by Grimes.

Mysterio gets up and hits Grimes. Sheamus rises up and starts attacking Grimes. Grimes tries to reply but Sheamus has all the answers.

Sheamus and Knight fight at ringside. Mysterio attacks Knight.

Rey Mysterio fights Grimes at ringside. Knight tries to pin Sheamus in the ring. Sheamus lifts Knight and throws on ring floor.

Crowd cheers for Sheamus. Knight shows aggression and gains the upper hand for brief while.

Mysterio and Grimes enter the ring. Mysterio throws Grimes and Knight out of the ring.

Mysterio and Sheamus team up against Grimes and Knight.

Sheamus attacks Knight. Knight throws him to ringside. Knight then throws Grimes out.

All four contestants Rey Mysterio, Sheamus, Cameron Grimes and LA Knight have entered the ring for fatal 4-way match. The winner will move one step closer to challenge Austin Theory for the US Championship title.

Austin Theory sits at ringside to witness the brawl.
