Delhi: Woman who jumped off Akshardham metro station succumbs to injuries

A ruckus erupted at the Akshardham metro station on Thursday morning after the woman tried to kill herself by jumping off the edge of the sidewall. A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) help had noticed her and instantly informed the shift head. They reached the spot and tried to move the woman to come down.
Still, she didn’t heed their pleas and gestured that she’d not get off the edge.
The shift in charge incontinently informed the station regulator, metro control, cluster Inspector and line in charge, who also informed the original police and arranged an ambulance. The shift in charge along with four staff from the near boardwalk went down to the ground and arranged a thick mask to deliver the woman.
Despite all possible sweats, the woman jumped off the edge but was saved by the squad. She suffered some injuries to her leg. She was incontinently rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for further treatment.
The woman was conscious and had suffered some injuries to her right leg. Latterly, in the evening, she succumbed to her injuries.
