PM Boris Johnson says he ‘can see nothing in the data at the moment that means we can’t go ahead with opening on June 21’ but warns we must be “cautious” as the data is “still ambiguous”.

Boris Johnson has described the government’s £1.4bn scheme to help schoolchildren in England as the “biggest tutoring programme in the world”, adding while “there’s going to be more” funding to come, “this is a huge amount that we’re spending.”

Boris Johnson says while he is “going to try and allow people to travel”, the government’s “priority is to continue the vaccine rollout.” The PM warns he will have “no hesitation” moving countries from the green list to amber or red if necessary.
