UNSC: Foreign secretary HV Shringla condemns killing of Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui in Afghanistan

Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla on July 16 condemned the killing of award winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui in Afghanistan. He extended his condolences to Siddiqui’s bereaved family. “We condemn the killing of Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui while he was on a reporting assignment in Kandahar in Afghanistan yesterday. I extend our sincerest condolences to his bereaved family,” Shringla said while addressing the UNSC.  “The complex nature of humanitarian situations around the world today demands the urgent attention of the Council,” he added. Danish, an Indian photojournalist working for Reuters, was killed on July 15 during clashes in Kandahar.
