As many as 10 campus residents, including women and children, and three forest personnel were attacked by the big cat in the last 24 hours, which later escaped from the spot.
In a horrifying video that has been widely circulated on social media, the leopard can be seen jumping over a barbed wire fence and lunging at a car before fleeing the area.

A forest official told PTI that they tried several times to pacify the leopard but in vain. He said efforts are underway to trace and capture him.
The injured were taken to hospital and their condition was stabilized. Locals were advised to stay indoors.
In another video captured by forest officials, the big cat is seen moving around the RFRI campus.
Located on the outskirts of Korhat, RFRI is surrounded by acres of forests and the leopard is believed to have come to the campus from there.
